PIF-backed Newcastle United in talks to fund new stadium

English football club Newcastle United, which is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has reportedly started talks with banks about funding of a new stadium.

The executives at the Premier League club are holding discussions on the feasibility and cost with several institutions, Bloomberg reported.

PIF led a buyout of Newcastle in October 2021, alongside PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, in a deal valued at about $410 million.
